What is NatsStats?

NatsStats is an independent fan-built statistics site for the Washington Nationals. We focus on clear, fast access to rosters, schedules, team performance, and custom "NatsStats" metrics you won't find on the official scoreboard.

Data Refresh Schedule

  • Traditional stats (rosters, hitting, pitching, standings, schedule): automatically synced every 30 minutes during the MLB season.
  • Advanced & Statcast-style metrics: recomputed every 6 hours.
  • Game-day pages may lag the live broadcast by a couple of minutes.

  • Baseball Savant / Statcast-style derivations
  • FanGraphs-style sabermetric calculations

Custom NatsStats Metrics

Natitude Pulse (0–100)
Composite team vibe score combining winning percentage (40%), normalized run differential (30%), team OPS (15%), and bullpen ERA (15%).
Bullpen Stress Index
Estimated relief innings logged over the last 3 days. Higher = more taxed bullpen heading into the next series.
Lineup Balance Score (0–100)
Inverted standard deviation of OPS across regular hitters. Higher = production is spread more evenly across the lineup.
Luck Gap
wOBA minus expected wOBA. Positive = overperforming quality of contact (regression candidate). Negative = unlucky / breakout candidate.
Barrel %
Share of batted balls hit at the ideal exit-velocity / launch-angle combination.
Hard-Hit %
Share of batted balls hit at 95+ mph exit velocity.
Hot/Cold Score
Recent form vs season baseline. Positive = hot streak; negative = cold spell.
Pitch Arsenal Score (0–100)
Composite pitcher quality derived from K/9 and WHIP, normalized league-wide.

Methodology Notes

Standard counting stats are pulled directly from box scores. Rate stats follow MLB definitions. Where Statcast tracking isn't publicly exposed per-player, NatsStats uses well-defined proxies derived from season-level outcomes. Sample sizes under 50 PA / 20 IP should be interpreted with caution.
